Story of this Masterpiece

Created in 1900.

This advertisement poster, originally released before 1926, shows the legendary US-American magician and author Alexander. Born Claude Alexander Conlin in 1880 the exceptional talent, known for his oriental styled fashion (including an iconic turban), quickly rose to stardom in the theatrical genre vaudeville. His impressive mind reading shows did not only involve his signature crystal ball but also many inventions that later earned him the title father of modern stage effects. The performer was so incredible successful that he was the highest paid mentalist in the 1920s worldwide and is still rumored to be the highest paid magician in history.

The legend, who is said to have been married (up to) 14 times and killed a street mugger in self-defense, invested heavily into his own beauty- and colorful posters. So much so, that another magician got a hold of them in the 1950s and built his very own career off of them by promoting himself as "Alexander" using Conlin's original artworks.

Enhance the walls of your home with the magnificent stare of "the man who knows". The vintage-colors on this popular motif will shine bright in any setting from living room to bedroom, from hallway to kitchen. This vintage-poster is decorative, appealing yet mysterious, and it comes with a unique story alongside incredible fun facts.
