Story of this Masterpiece by Louis Tauzin

Created in 1910.

French painter Louis Tauzin created this beautiful vintage-poster in 1910. The motif showing the Opera of the French town Vichy, has most likely served as a travel-advertisement. The impressive building, inaugurated in 1865 by Napoleon III, is very popular and best known for it's heavily Art Nouveau influenced interior decoration.

The illustration shows a view of the veranda with its iconic glass canopy and impressive statues. The clocks on the building indicate that it's a little over 7 pm, which means that the guests gathering around the building are waiting for the Opera to begin soon. The settling evening is illustrated beautifully and creates a very romantic vibe in combination with the warm light that shines from within in the epic building. The ladies and gentlemen outside are dressed properly in fancy evening-dresses and suits, ready to enjoy themselves and have a great time.

Decorate your rooms with this classy vintage-poster showing an upper class French society during the Fin de siècle. Let the beauty of this masterpiece shine as the centerpiece of your living- or bedroom. Look at this artwork to dream yourself into the scene shown or use it as inspiration for your next trip to France.
